Robbie Keane,i never rated the cunt but many did,Steven Ireland too,hes done fuck all in Months, soccerball in general infact, cant wait for the hurling to come back so i wont have to be depending on it for entertainment.
Drinking and smoking. I havenât had a drink or a cigarette for two and a half weeks and I feel bloody great.
Who is she?
Thatâs just because youâre former drink addled state is still fresh in your mind. In time it will fade, and your new healthiness will start to feel dull and mundane. Thatâs where drink comes in.
Iâll agree with that. Itâs relatively entertaining but itâs not âhilariously funnyâ or very original. Superbad is much better
The Dunph
climate change
Not another case of âyou should never meet your heroesâ?
Afraid so. Iâll never forgot the look of total and utter disappointment on Shannonsiders face when the Dunph arrived.
A lot like Puke when Ben emailed him those pictures of Flano.
You seem to have sheep on the brain today WTB, feeling a bit homesick?
Monty Python.
Life of Brian.
All of that guff.
Bunch of college lads trying to out do each, up their own arse and generally not funny.
Cleese made up for it with Fawlty Towers where apparently he got a lot of grief from the rest of them for doing a straight forward sitcom.
Agreed. Load of wank.
Palin made up for it with his travel documentaries especially Pole To Pole. Eric Idle made up for it with Nuns On The Run
I saw that in the cinema with my brother when I was about 7 or 8. Some bird tried to kick me out because I was under age.
Monty Python did invent the sketch show. And they have been cited by every significant comic act since as a major influence.
So thatâs something.
I think The Life of Brian is fantastic. Very funny, it was by far the best of the movies they did.
Flying Circus looks a bit dated now, but it must have been revolutionary in terms of TV comedy at the time. Iâd even still laugh at some of the sketches.
Comedy, with a handful of exceptions, doesnât age particularly well. The python brigade proved in many projects that they were a very talented bunch. I would be grateful if Michael Palin fucked off though.
Comedy, as much as anything, I would say is a metter of taste.
The Python lads may have been mentioned as influences and thatâs great but I donât find their stuff particularly funny. I actually find them quite smarmy, condescending and a little too smart for their own liking.
Outside of Cleese and Gilliam, what did the rest of them do of any note?
