The Overrated Thread

I used to make salad & chips back in the 2003-2008 era. Get the chips going in the deep fat fryer while prepping a little salad. Lettuce, scallions, beetroot, tomato, sliced ham, chicken, cheese, coleslaw & a couple of hard boiled eggs. The latter are indeed tremendous. Salad & chips is a terrific combination actually.

I’d two lovely boiled eggs for my lunch today.

A true roaster puts a big dollop of coleslaw into a “salad”

Yeah. Rovers unlucky to lose 3 2

They were battered. Garbage time goals made it look respectable

Surely coleslaw is bona fide salady…roaster or not?

Egg on a pizza is fcukin wrong .

No roaster calls it coleslaw - they would refer to it as coldslaw

What’s your method? I get the water swirling and add a few drops of vinegar before cracking the eggs in. Usually comes out pretty good.

What’s your technique

Fresh eggs are crucial. Drop of vinegar and some salt in the water. Boil and bring back to a gentle simmer
Swirl the water like bejaysis
Gently crack in the egg.
Slotted spoon to take it out and kitchen towel to dab off excess water.

I’ve mrs barnes and the kids fucking ruined so i do.

I’d roaster uncle used to call it ‘cowelslaw’. He also referred Rhubarb as Roobob.

The 4 year old saw ramen in the supermarket tonight in a pot and wanted me to make it which I did. I told her about the half boiled egg that goes into floating in it and now that’s on the menu next week.
I don’t know where she gets it from.

And go to the deli and ask for a “small dollop” as they get the ladle out to smother a fucking roll

A deep fat fryer in the late noughties…by god. Haven’t seen one since about 1996. Would this have been in a lads gaff in early stadium building financing days?
