What was fatal was the veterinary surgeon’s bullet careering through his brains as the animal could have been saved otherwise. Why don’t they just tell the truth? ‘‘Sanctuaire was shot by a vet on Sunday as he fell and broke a few bones out running with Ruby and we would get fuck all for him out of the insurance if we let him live.’’ Sounds better and makes more sense.
