The poor grammar, spelling and syntax thread

Sigh.

What kind of a lunatic uses a full stop instead of a comma after ‘Regards’?

I’d always go with the full stop because I’d ALWAYS have my name on the next line.

ie.
Regards.
Brimmer Bradley.

These gaa muldoons however are completely taking the piss. No comma, no full stop. All on the same line too !!!
I read a WhatsApp today from a lady with a masters degree. That finished with,

Thanks Ciara.

I was sorely tempted to ask her was she thanking herself.

Who fucking asked you anyway. I put this up here for bandage to view and hopefully offer some guidance on how to deal with it.
To some people it’s only a smell issue I’m sure but you have no idea how much it annoys me.

Regards.
Brimmer Bradley.

We’re fully agreed here mate. Any stupid cunt that left out the comma or used a full stop instead would irk the shit out of me too.

I’d occasionally go with “Rgds,” in a short email, cc @Bandage. I would never do a “Tks,” though.

I’m the opposite. I’d sometimes use the Tks. But NEVER the rgrs.
All, I might add, through Gaa related emails. The tks I’d sometimes use to lighten the tone of the message. I’d never ever use either of the above at work.

The “Is mise le meas” gets brandished proudly on any GAA email sent in an official capacity, and many unofficial ones too.

Too formal for an email. Le dea-mhéin is what you’re looking for.

Kind regards is my sign off. Unless I feel like being brusque, in which case it’s regards.

Standards are slipping.

Standards? And what contribution do you make? Fucking piece of shit.

That’s much better.

My honours English exam is long over. if I didn’t learn correct punctuation or spelling then I won’t learn it now. I know you want me to be perfect. I know its because you care.
