I thought we went from shambolic to a bit above average but no more. The good play was exclusively down the left through Izaguirre and we still don’t have much cohesion or pattern to our play. Nothing through midfield and poor ball retention. It was Izaguirre on the burst and a lot of chasing and harrying to make up in part for a deficit in class. At least we’ll have Guidetti available after Christmas but I thought that was quite disappointing on the whole. Our defending isn’t anywhere near up to scratch either.
Correction: Mulgrew, Brown and Forrest haven’t travelled to Zagreb. The latter two are being rested (Brown is on a booking) but Mulgrew has a knock.
Presumably there’ll be plenty of changes to the team. Commons, Scepovic and a few others could do with a game.
Oh…welcome, Liverpool fans.

I would expect something along the following lines:
Zaluska
Matthews
Van Dijk
Ambrose
Izzy
Bitton
Johansen
McGregor
Commons
Wakaso/Tonev
Scepovic/Griffiths
Do we play one of the champions league rejects in the next round ?
Draw at 12.00. Who do we want Bhoys ?
I’m looking at getting a team with limited European pedigree so Everton from England are really the only seed that fit the bill.
Legia Warsaw again ??
Here is our list of potential opponents
Seeded teams:
Olympiacos, Zenit St Petersburg, Sporting Lisbon, Athletic Bilbao, Borussia Monchengladbach, Club Brugge, Besiktas, Dynamo Moscow, Inter Milan, Feyenoord, Everton , Napoli, Dynamo Kyiv, Fiorentina, Legia Warsaw.
Worth noting that if we draw Legia they will have a closed stadium with no home or away fans following their latest ban. I’d probably prefer to avoid any of the CL dropouts but in general there is no obvious team I’d want to avoid with the exception of maybe Napoli
Inter Milan for the Bhoys.
When we beat Inter Milan in Lisbon town on the 25th of May.
Celtic v Internazionale
Tottenham v Fiorentina
Liverpool v Besiktas
Tremendous draw
@Il Bomber Destro give me the lowdown on the current form of Internazionale please
A pity we didn’t get Fiorentina.

They’ve struggled domestically, being ravaged by injuries in fairness to them but they seem to be very reliant on Icardi for goals.
Wonder where Rafa the Gaffer will be for those games?
Happy enough with that, tie there for the taking. Win at home first and they won’t be up for it second leg.
Also looking through their squad I found “100 FW Ignacio Novo”

Besiktas is always a tough place to go, mate.
Everton will be the only British team left in it after the next round…
I’d love to get you scouse bastards.
Has anyone sorted flights for Meelan? Heard the place is a dump though so might give it a miss
Went to AC Milan when Kaka scored to knock us out. Didn’t think much of the city for drinking and the stadium was a cunt to get back from.
DB also screwed me for a ticket for the Celtic end that he sourced somewhere while the selfish giant got in with a ticket costing five times less.

I think I may hold out for the next away leg so cheers, I’ve heard nothing positive about Meelan.
Good to hear your not too bitter over the ticket escapade either mate

Was that not the game where @thedancingbaby paid over the odds to get a Celtic end ticket? Milan ended up opening the entire end for all Celtic supporters no matter what section of the ground they had tickets for. TBD was safely ensconced up in the third tier in the far corner and we piled in right behind the goal.
