Celtic’s Europa League draw.
Home: Roma, Braga, Sturm Graz, Utrecht.
Away: Feyenoord, Red Star Belgrade, Midtjylland, Bologna.
Dates and fixture details to be confirmed in the coming days.
An away day trip made in heaven.
Feyenoord
Celtic
Actually… I think Celtic also have a strong relationship with Bologna also.
Battle of the “one time European champions from long ago who are now shite” with Red Star
Jonathan Wilson had a great podcast on that Red Star team. Absolutely incendiary time.
It Was What It Was. Great podder
Absolutely sensational stuff. Arkan was a wrong un.
The research that goes into is unreal. The one about Colombian league was class.
I don’t think there’s a whole lot for Forest to fear there. If we stay injury free, we could go far.
Anyone else find it really bizarre thay when there are 3 irish teams in the league stages this year, this chump is approaching it from an englishmans perspective
You need to find yourself a hobby. Seriously ![]()
I was close to the Sturm Graz ground last year, tidy ground. In the city too. Graz is beautiful. If you were to select an away day that would be my favourite.
The english fans are hated in europe mate
Thought we might see Ineacho as striker and Maeda on the right wing but I guess there is some sort of bench impact.
I think Maeda has played the odd time on the right in Ange’s days & possibly in Rodgers’ first season back but not really recently. Don’t think he’s massively comfortable there. The winger options are kinda lopsided now with Maeda, Tounekti, Balikwisha (& even Jota) all favouring the left. I wondered if he’d restore Engels to midfield for an away European game, some of his better games for Celtic have been at this level & he has athleticism/running power. Even against these I’d kinda fear Celtic getting killed in transition with McGregor not able to lock down the middle & neither Hatate or Nygren are particularly fast or defensively minded. Happy enough with Donovan getting the nod again over the returning Ralston & looking forward to seeing how Tounekti fares against a stronger opponent.
Yeah. Just think Maeda has been a bit out of sorts recently and he’s not very good at holding the ball up for an away game. As you said there’s a queue for the left wing so just have him pressing from the right with a central striker we can play through.
Agreed on Engels though he got limited game time at the weekend and seems down the list. We could be very open in that midfield alright and might miss his energy.
Hatate has to make those first two passes. His slackness is infuriating at times when he’s capable of producing quality.
He’s having a nightmare.
