Derry City are awaiting updates after authorities after the Lithuanian government changed their green list ahead of next week’s Europa League qualifier.
City are due to take on FK Riteriai next Tuesday in a one-legged first round tie in Vilnius.
But yesterday the United Kingdom and Ireland were removed from the countries that can visit without needing a two-week quarantine.
The Lithuanian health department said the increasing cases in the countries led to their removal.
“Given the deteriorating epidemiological situation in Denmark, Ireland, Greece, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Nepal, these countries have been put on the list of affected countries,” they said in a statement.
"Persons who have returned or arrived from countries on the list of countries most affected by coronavirus infection or who have travelled through the affected countries shall be deemed to have been exposed to the virus.
“Persons arriving from or via the affected countries are required to self-isolate.”
City confirmed to RTÉ Sport that they have yet to hear of any concrete developments and if the match will be moved to a neutral venue.
There is also the possibility that they could receive a travel exemption, although it would limit the number of support staff that can be part of the group.
City have already chartered a plane to travel to the Lithuanian city and will be seeking updates as soon as possible from authorities and UEFA in order to make any changes necessary.
Dundalk’s Champions League qualifier against Slovenian side Celje is being played in Hungary for similar travel restriction reasons.
