The prestigious UEFA cup ( europa league) 20/21

good old Bill Hulsizer
if they get thru this its +/- 3 million quid - that’s great business for the “franchise”

lads Gadaffi Zayed made a decent point there in that x6 of the Faroes starting side are Klaksvik players and the Faroes win games now so you do have fellas playing a " reasonable" level.
i checked their squad, a couple of Balkan lads, a few Danes and all local… Im going to go on this one and think tblisi fell apart up there and just didnt fancy it as opposed to KI jhaving some eureka type moment… this was a bizarre result tho any way you look at it

cracking presser by Filipo earlier

“The best thing is the relationship that we’ve built with the players,” is his answer when asked what he has most enjoyed since arriving at the club.

"We’ve built a family situation internally. There is a kind of trust in between us. We really enjoy working together, and it makes us strong.

"What we did in Moldova was something special. Only with this family environment could we have gone through, and faced this challenge.

“To make this more special, we will need to get through tomorrow.”

Tomorrow night is huge lads
as an aside Iast night saw the first ever Faroese player to play and score in the bundesliga with some blonde man ( Brian Moore , Rotterdam 93) scoring for Armina Bielefeld

You give the faros much chance @mickee321?

@Rocko

What channel is the Celtic game on ? Not listed on Premier Sports

I think you would have to Blackjack
The seem a very organsised and settled side, have had a few decent european performances and have 6 lads playing international football in a very settled side.
Dundalk are missing chris shields which is huge and i refer to the FAI cup final last year so people can remember the impact of that
look Dundalk, we know the level they are coming off, the italian lads clearly have given them a huge lift of late i must say and they looked very good against a sheriff side who it must be said looked a complete mess altogether. now that was some result for Dundalk, sheriff are a very heavily funded organization with a consistent group stage pedigree but they looked lost last thursday .
So like KI beating Dinamo Tblisi, dundalk beating Sheriff was a massive overachievement…
KI have said they will sit back tonight and let dundalk play before breaking with long ball charges… i expect this to be a horrific footballing spectacle and i give both an equal chance

jesus the prize is massive 2.9 million to win and 140k / point if they get one therafter in the groups

its the game of the night in europe

Yes - massive tie for Dundalk and maybe their long term future at stake ??

Rangers v Galatasaray is another fascinating tie

yeah there is a real old feel to Rangers vs Galatasaray allright
In terms of the KI Dundalk tie - so for :LOI what is it 120/140k to the winners- id say the Faroese league is less so the impact of the prizemoney on these two clubs is big

the question then is asked - well why didnt the 2.7 million dundalk got in 2016 " transform" them , I guess they just paid off most or all of their debts , but then they lost all their players on free transfers and kind of started again albeit in a more decent financial position ( well for a LOI club anyway) -Hulsizer came and did a bit of investing, you’ve had odd signings like Marco Tagbajumi., yer man from Lithuania and now the likes of Colovic, gave the players 3 year contracts unheard of at LOI and bought in this massive suppot cast like andy burton from sky sports whilst leaving Vinny Perth at the helm before the pressure broke him…
id love to see them push on from tonight, keep filipo there and next season invest heavily in the squad but as they probably wont be in the CL it’s a bit of a problem…

LOI clubs do not make money, they simply struggle to break even- i think Bill will take the cash

Did the FAI not keep some of the UEFA prize money earned by LOI resting in their account to tide them over or am I imagining that ?

no not at all young man you are correct
for some reason Dundalk asked for the money to go thru the FAI first in 2016 - as to what happened to the cash i dont know

How much would going to Latvia on an away trip cost Dundalk ???

well they would have gotten 800k as it was CL qualifier

@Rocko are we looking at our usual site tonight for the Bhoys in Bosnia?

We are indeed.

Ntcham misses out, unsurprisingly. Elyounoussi and Edouard up front presumably.
