Lots of winnable ties for Celtic there, I’d fancy us over anyone bar Spuds. If that had been any other team than Spuds/Roma then UEFA would have thrown them out of the competition for not playing this eve. They need that big side to keep for the legitimacy of the competition.

Potential last 16 opponents:

LASK
Gent
Roma
AZ
Feyenoord
Copenhagen
Rennes
Basel

I’d expect us in the last 8 unless we get very unlucky with the draw.

If Spuds beat Rennes they will be in the last 32 and are the team to avoid there. They should beat them as they Rennes have already qualified and have nothing to play for. Vitesse beat Mura 3-1 tonight so that means any Spuds win will qualify them on GD.

Avoid Spuds in RO32 and avoid Roma/Rennes in RO16 and I’d be expectant of a Celtic place in the last 8.

The other teams coming from the EL are:

Sparta Prague
PSV
Leicester
Fenerbahce
Marseille
Midtjylland
Rapid Vienna

Ideal path is Randers and then LASK.

Why didn’t Spurs play tonight?

Covid outbreak. They should be kicked out for not fulfilling.

Be great if we were kicked out. I’d imagine that was the plan in not fulfilling the fixture.

You’re not fulfilling a EPL fixture either.

Is it the plan to get thrown out of that aswell ?

That’s postponed with the consent of the Premier Leavue authorities and Brighton & Hove Albion. We have a squad ravaged by this terrible life threatening pandemic. Their health and wellbeing is the only priority at the moment.

Fuck UEFA and their bureaucrats.

Signing in.

Are they the crowd that beat Roma?

Yes though it was a Roma reserve side who were in a very strong position in the group in the middle of snow season.

They seem to have a few decent players though but I think will lose their left back in January and possibly a few others.

I’d expect us to get through to the last 8 unless we are very unlucky in the draw.

They have 6 players who are currently Norwegian internationals - Berg, Bjorkan, Botheim, Lode, Linnes and Solbakken.

Bjorkan is the left back and joins Hertha Berlin in January. Berg (captain and midfielder) and Botheim (striker) seem to be the two they have tipped to also make a move to one of the main European leagues shortly.

I’ve backed Celtic at 33/1 to win this out.

Berg is meant to be good.
