Is there anything to be said for a nice relaxing walk no

Perfect for recovering, the dog will love it too

It’s great and highly recommended. I walk Brady every night…

But if you’re looking to increase health and longevity, then resistance training is the way to go.

You are taking years off your life by running regularly, and you will also be crippled in your 50’s

Is that safe? Would there be a fear of straining your lower back?

If it hurts your back don’t do it would be my rule of thumb. Ive had problems before with my lower back and this is gine though. We do it regularly as part of a circuit. We’d use a bar with about 15kg either side.

My knee was giving me serious problems
Was up to 24km power walking 3/4 times weekly,
Pain killers etc,
Tried road running again- fucked afterwords,
Returned to treadmill ,
Stepper ,
Much easier,
Only weights I do are the machine type
( resistance)
Should do more but constantly drawn to the treadmill

Bouts of depression interrupted by 3 day benders in Budapest really don’t help the fitness. The weighing scales may as well have just read the word “disgrace” there

I hadn’t any form of exercise done in 4/5 months… Cardio even longer .

Did a 10k cycle with a stop to outdoor workout/ bar area in-between and did some pull-ups and pushups. Coming up Ckarkes hill on bike nearly kilt me stone dead .

I’ve come to the conclusion I’m not fit

Get back to the bar, mate. 40 minutes every day and in four weeks you’ll feel like you can crush rocks again.

Would you not go for an ould walk every day…im blue in the face from telling you

You keep on saying this, I think you’ve been heard at this stage.

Walking is the bare minimum anyone should be doing to be a functioning non obese human. A man in his late 30s 40s should be doing some challenging form of exercise to maintain or even progress strength.

We get it, walking is good for you, well done

I walk Brady for 20 mins every night at 10.30.

Whatever about cardio, Men should be doing a certain amount of strength training every week. It’s more important to do it as we age / go the other side of 35. I’d go as far to say it’s vital for good health as we age.

I’m back now @Enrique . Dan and Ger will be bulging in no time
