I’m sure they won’t, as my club hasn’t got a junior b team, so even if i wanted to play it, i couldn’t. And we ain’t in Mid-Cork either, and i’d say a transfer is out of the question right now.
Anyway, who said we are talking about GAA? We were discussing a programme thrown up by Count, and i had a lash off it saturday. Not sure what is so hard to understand about that.
Another thing, its completely over blown how much GAA players train. The only thing that bothers alot of GAA players, especially the generation from 30+ now, is the amount of drinking time they lose out on because they have to look after themselves. There are hundreds and probably thousands of other amateur athletes of all sorts all over Ireland training harder than GAA players, and making massive sacrifices. Boxers, runners, Martial Arts participants etc. Most of whom train twice a day a couple of days a week. There is a new generation of GAA players who just acceptthat if they want to enjoy and excel at GAA they are making a lifestyle choice. Some people don’t like that and say the fun is gone, but i disagree, i think it adds to a healthier young male society.
The only problem with GAA training up till recently was their was no method to the madness, thankfully that has changed. You’re so out of touch KIB with Ireland, sport, politics etc etc you’d swear you left for Oz in the 80’s.
Did a few miles on the road there tonight, thought I’d got a dose of colic half way through but ran it off. I’ll be giving myself an extra hour or two in future.
Good points mate. Good job the Internet is here to keep me in touch with the goings on in the old sod. I was sent a link there from the Southern Star. 12 Dec 2009 Kilmurry 1-8 Ballinora 0-6 junior b league final. What went wrong that day? Bad form to cancel the junior team too.
Strange, who and why would you be sent a link about a match like that? Do you think i’m from Kilmurry or Ballinora? You might send on the link. Did i make the team?
Jesus, the Clare lads have gone into over drive trying to find out who i am. Going up the same old channels anyway lads, keep it up. I’m sure Puke and WTB are putting together a nice dossier of amazing stats.
The internet can’t can’t you stop being wrong an awful lot though, its got its limitations.
some good points there about the GGA. Didnt the head of th institute of sport guffaw when GGA players wanted to get grants for been elit athletes? also id never consider LOI players to be overly fit but that recent report said that LOI players were fitter than gga players(even part time LOI players)
Aerobic stamina could possibly be as good with some soccer players at the very highest amateur level, but generally and in an overall state of fitness, GAA players would be better.
Proof of their average standard would be how so many LOI players struggle for a good while when they get over to England to play professionally. Even when fully pro most LOI teams only trained for 2 hours a day, why the fuck was this they were only doing collectively. They had a responsibility to the league and the products and they let it slip by and took the easy money.
im dealing in facts mate- the report came from one of the best colleges in kerry- it said part time LOI players were fitter than stick hurlers & bogballers
im not aware of any players that struggled with fitness when they went to britain ,portugal or whereever
pat mccourt perhaps but he had underlying issues which it took Celtic two seasons to sort & it may not be 100% right yet
What would be a superstar club player like yourself be doing playing Junior B? You have already said about being more skillful than the Cork players and it’s clear you hold your own footballing ability in very regard. Only can post from the iPhone so can’t put the link up. No idea if you were playing or not but don’t see any evidence of a superstar club player lording it either.
No, very few superstars there i’d suggest. Not sure i ever said i was a super star either, but if you think i’m one then thats 3 people, the woman, my mother and you. Nice.
It was a serious question requiring a serious answer, not the smart alec answer you gave. You know i don’t have a rowing boat and am too far from the sea to get one.
Now i’d like Kev or someone to field my question regarding rowing machines. Are they any good?
Yes Dunph, they are a noble Machine, will really build up your lung capacity, will also strengthen mainly your biceps and upper back. Start at low level, it isn’t something you can jump up on and do 10 mins no bother like a bike.
