East, East, East……
MetroLink and Luas Finglas will have their permissions in a matter of weeks.
That’s to add to the three existing DART+ lines and the 12 Bus Connects routes with permissions. Judicial reviews now cleared on two of the DART lines with a wait and see on D+ North to see if any land in the next 8 weeks. I believe 6 of the Bus Connects routes are in JR.
So from a planning perspective, we are nearly there on all projects that are submitted, with the backlog after the collapse of ABP nearly cleared. The redesigned Depot for D+ should hopefully go in soon and come out of planning quickly. I don’t think there is anything else imminent to go in for planning. I think maybe Luas Cork will go in next after the consultation and the next phase of the Cork Commuter rail will end up there. The NTA can move to the next Dublin Luas lines and possibly the second Metro line for planning while the decade of construction continues. It’s been going in Cork for a while but the first Bus Connects line is starting construction in a few weeks.
Ryans legacy is better than lemass, there i said it
NTA spent just €97 on Dublin West bus services in 2022 and nothing at all in 2023
So in 2020 they made most of the investment, that then runs to current expenditure.
Orbital routes also feed into other buses / rail which takes up demand.
That’s a really odd attack line, I know Currie isn’t the smartest but does she think services grow every year?
Is Dinny on board?
BAM will put in the lowest bid and the fucking thing will be 20 years late.
Fixed
Lessons have been learned from children’s hospital so these delays and cost over runs shouldn’t happen again

Irish Rail have pretty good security now on the DART. They’ll have someone on fairly rapidly when an ASB complaint goes in.
With more and more DART stations going barrier-free, this will be an increasing feature I suspect.
Irish Rail still holding fairly firm on most of the city centre stations though.
Metro Link will also be barrier-free which I think is a mistake but there we are.

What a legacy for Eamon Ryan
Just have to sit back and wait for the judicial reviews now. What’s the time limit for lodging them? 21 days?
Arent smyths toy store up in arms and a few bogball clubs
Yes I think they are demolishing the clubhouse in Na Fianna to make way for a metro station
8 weeks
LDA acquired Lissenhall beside the Metrolink terminus. 6k homes can be built there. I wonder how many ultimately will be built in north county Dublin because of this development alone.
