The Race for a Vaccine. The Road to Demaskus

A fuckin great idea. We’ll set up a tour company and tie in with a private clinic in the cotswolds.

Flights, accommodation, 2 days racing in Cheltenham and a vaccination.

The media are a disgrace. Government incompetence is a given at this stage but you now have a media reluctant go expose them over anything they do incorrectly.

Vaccinations in Britain are the new abortions

Yes, the legality around consent is holding up the roll out in Ireland. Apparently it’s too complicated to explain to the public and very complex to resolve in a timely fashion. So instead Varadkar goes on national radio to say he doesn’t know why they’re proceeding at a snail’s pace and Reid and Donnelly peddle guff about being cautious so that we can ensure it’s safe. Meanwhile, practically every other country bar the Dutch is getting stuck in. It’s absolutely scandalous.

They’ve started administering the second dose up here. Apparently mist Tyrone folk have already developed herd immunity simply by rolling around in the muck.

I just seen a girl I’m friendly with who is a doctor has gotten the first shot of the vaccine. She is based in Dublin. She’d a form similar to the driving licence one with the details on it.

Hopefully in 3 or 4 days things will calm down.

And the follow up jabs can be administered at Anfield, Old Trafford and Celtic Park. We can bypass the HSE entirely.

Whats the issue with consent, sign this form here next to the line that says you consent to receiving the covid 19 vaccine. The same form with your name DOB and PPS number. Its not rocket surgery

The issue is around the cohort who may or may not be of sound mind to give consent. Our ambulance chasers are sniffing around for a chance to sue

Fuck sake.

That’s all well & good if you’ve your full faculties

I presume our European neighbours have ways to address the consent issue maybe they could share them?

Is the Oxford jab one dose or two doses, 3 weeks apart?

Who is going to sign yours?

Two. 12 weeks apart I think.

Horse it into the ones who do have their faculties until such time as they get it resolved then. Don’t just stop the full fucking show from happening.

The government simply can’t be going around telling us how urgent and critical this whole they then twiddle their thumbs over the vaccine. Vaccinate whoever needs it most and who can be vaccinated with immediacy.

Whats so hard with developing a process to bang through the vaccination program. Nursing homes need to be done on site fair enough.

For us joe public it should be as simple as;

  1. Build temporary centres for vaccination ie use citywest/rds/ULArena etc

  2. Log onto HSE website using my gov id preferably (ring HSE if you dont have access to computer)

  3. Fill out forms with personal details including medical history

  4. Tick consent box at the bottom and submit

  5. Get a text/email with date and time for vaccine.

  6. Arrive at centre with your reference number.

  7. Admin staff at centre will have your details and another form with wet signature to consent again.

  8. Get called into vaccination slot. Person delivers vaccine and explains what they are doing (2 mins max)

  9. Put into waiting area with everyone else for 15 mins with nurses supervision in case someone feels ill afterwards.

  10. Be giving an information pack and shown the door.

  11. Repeat steps 5 to 10 for second dose.

  12. Off to the pub for a feed of pints and pictures of pints for tfk.

This 15 minute per patient crap is bollocks. The system should be set up to ensure the most vaccines are delivered as possible narrowed down to the 2 min window. Everything else is admit and can be performed outside the area where the work is performed (giving the jab). Any DoH advisers on this form can reach out to me and ill set this up before I’m back to work next week for €100k plus expenses.
