I would not envy Dee Devlin in the slightest. She’s trapped not just in an abusive relationship but in a relationship where the abuse can never end even if she leaves it. The only way it can end is if McGregor ends up dead. It must be like being in the mafia. People want to get out but they can’t. The bad choice is already made and can’t be undone. The bad choice is made due to lack of self respect. As time goes on the sunken costs increase and the cost of getting out increases exponentially.
You’re assuming a lot there. She’s had most of her kids after multiple reports of infidelity and very public drug binges. I’d have some sympathy for her but it’s not like she’s gonna lose her kids or they wouldn’t be provided for.
