Vegas are expecting $70 million to be placed on the fight. The largest amount ever placed on a boxing match.
95% of the bets are on McGregor but 80% of the money is on Mayweather. In other words small mug punters are backing McGregor and keeping Mayweathers price artificially inflated for the big boys.
You know how bookies work, they don’t give a fuck what they think personally so long as the book is balanced. If they weren’t offering decent odds to entice the big boys their book would be completely lopsided and in the event of a shock they’d be cleaned out.
The Westgate SuperBook told Purdum the average bet for McGregor was $212, while fans were putting an average of $8,036 on Mayweather.
