The Record Store Day Thread

Record Store Day tomorrow. Can’t partake.

Doing a clear out, found my CD collection. You couldn’t give them away. Do you keep them??

Keep them. They’ll be the new vinyl in a few years mate.

The demise of the album sleeve is a terrible shame.

You could certainly throw out about 90% of them.

CDs are degrading over time so are virtually worthless. And unfortunately 99.9% of LPs are worth less than face value. So unless they have sentimental value…….

Above post was a bit negative.

I kept all my LPs over the years. Couple of hundred I suppose. Young lad got a record player for Christmas so he took them away. Sound quality is supposed to be far superior than anything reproduced digitally. Whether he plays them much, I don’t know.

Lots of BJH, Mike Oldfield, Yes, Vangelis and JMJ. Oh the memories……

First time hearing this, that’s disappointing.

I read in Neil Young’s autobiography all about it. He’s the driving force behind HD music streaming services. I haven’t heard much about it since. Assume it never took off. Most people can’t hear or appreciate the difference anyway.

JMJ = Jean Michel Jarre?

Yea, too lazy to type on the phone earlier.

I had to send to the mainland as ye call it for this one when it came out first.
He’s 73 now, bloody hell…
