The Rowing Thread

Just heard on the radio there. A few good results

Did anyone else notice the poorly made gnashers on the two that won silver yesterday? Must have been a two for one sale on in Skibb. Not custom made either.

These boys are definite alright sorts. Great bits of stuff. It’d only be a suicidal depressive hate filled bastard who’d have anything bad to say about them.

Ah I don’t know them sick bastards spend their time training and trying to be the best they can competing at an elite level in their chosen sports. And then they just act like themselves and don’t throw out a ball of bland platitudes when interviewed. They are obviously hateful bastards

How dare they enjoy success. They should be miserable losers, then they might endear themselves to certain people

O’Driscoll and O’Donovan leading in the pairs after 1500 metres.

What an hour for Irish rowing here, favourites for both lightweight sculls as well.

The lads have done it.

Gallant second place from the Italians - congratulations @Nembo_Kid and @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy.

Astonishing to keep up that 44 strokes per minute rate for the whole race.

Paul O’Donovan off now, defending his lightweight single sculls title.

O’Donovan has a 15 year old’s moustache of the sort Damien Dempsey wrote about in “Spraypaint Backalley”.

People tell him to shave it off, but if he shaves if off he wouldn’t win.

He’s going to win. He wins.

Yeeeesssss. Victory for us in both senior races on a non-traditional course - above the weir - which, to be honest, slightly devalues the achievement.

Disappointing to lose both novices races.

You didn’t hear who won the Goonan Cup, by any chance, @mickee321?

Excellent from the 36 year old Latvian native.
