The Rugby Thread (Part 1)
the GGA doesnt unite - its played by rural bigoted papes, none of our orange friends are welcome im afraid  ireland will never be united under the GGA model - the only thing worse than orangemen is the green orangemen in the GGA
rogbee doesnt unite- the west brits from D4 & the upper classes from ballymena play - the working class are excluded - an ireland for the rich will never work:mad:
the FAI was set up as they refused to play under the british flag the IFA wanted them too - its was a bold & brave step against oppression- now the war is over the FAI are doing more than the 2 organisations above to unite ireland - the setanta cup is the only cup competition that it doesnt matter what creed or class you are - it is progressive thinking like this that will unite Ireland ;)
Point of record NCC

Kearney, Bowe, O Leary all played minor intercounty GAA.
Earls is from Myross in Limerick
BOD is a northsider like yourself
Leamy & Quinlan are from Tipp, Quinlans family have a pub and Leamys are farmers.
Hayes is a farmer from Co Lk

I would say of the 22 man squad for saturday maybe 3/4 went to a boarding school, a similar percentage to most intercounty GAA squads Id say.

Id say there is a fair cross section of society represented there.

Your argument about rugby being elitist is redundant. The only people who think this are people who have no involvement and only a passing interest in the game. Of course there are clubs that have a lot of wealthy & posh members, but most rugby club members are normal folk like the posters on here.

If fans of other sports have an inferiority complex about rugby and its supporters then thats something they need to get over themselves. I dont see anyone on any rugby forums harping on about soccer fans being scummers etc. The slights are perceived.

the setanta cup is the only cup competition that it doesnt matter what creed or class you are

Sorry NCC, you know and I know that this is an absolute pile of my bollocks. The All Ireland League is a far longer established competition than the Setanta cup, by your reckoning this means the IRFU are doing far more for unity on this Island.

Thanks for helping me win the argument
Jinx dont come back

Bod is from the northside but he is a posh twat
the AIL league is longer established than the brave setanta cup but it only covers the upper crust of society im afraid
4 out of 22 players went to boarding school is a massive % considering how elitish boarding schools are
a quick glance at the Dublin teams in the AIL ends the argument in my favour im afraid

Most boarding schools in the country are not elitist, they are for farmers sons i.e. rockwell, roscrea etc. Everyone I know who went to these schools are farmers sons.

How does looking at the dub teams in the AIL end the argument.
Your argument is weak.

You are bitter because LOI football is a crock of shit.
Rugby clubs made the exact same mistake in the 90s, paying players more than they were worth in an attempt to buy success. Most AIL clubs learned from this and now develop the clubs by going out into the community and encouraging as many kids from as many backgrounds as possible to get involved.

Unfortunately LOI clubs dont seem to learn the lessons of history and are on a trail of self destruction. This is not rugbys fault, or GAA for that matter.

But ut has made you very bitter and defenseive towards other sports.

Feel the love NCC, head out to Malahide RFC one of these tuesday nights and see how you get on.

Im sure they will take one look at the track marks on your arms, your malnourished body, the spindles sticking out from under your knee length shorts, your shinpads, the johnny blue rolled into your sleeve and a SRFC jersey destroyed in hot rock burns and say yep, winger for the J4s.

(either that or lock the dressing room lads its Rats out of Paths to Freedom, Roysh ;))

the club in malahide is quite salubrious but its a white elephant im afraid- the bar & club is empty most nights - no point going to an empty bar

why would i be bitter Dan- SRFC are on the verge of greatness

I assume you are just a WUM about the boarding schools so wont respond

not WUMMING in slightest about he boarding schools. I know 6 fells who went to boarding school and they are all farmers. Its a handy way of getting kids outof the house when the parents are v busy. My missus went to a boarding school and it cost about 2k a term, twas cheaper than keeping her at home.

Do yhou think everyone who goes to a grind school is a ‘posh’ cunt as well you do?

I presume you are WUM about SRFC so I wont respond (speakingof white elephants)

lets clarify - there is no wumming here - yeah?

except you saying SRFC are onthe vergeof greatness. ANyways cant believe I let you hijack another thread and got dragged down to your LOI level.

Gluck

lets not get into another thread praising the hoops Dan but as bohs cork drogs etc etc are all fucked our position has suddenly looked a lot brighter - SS can explain it to you

anyway - lets keep this a kick & clap thread

I know your missing the passion and excitement of the gaa season but that’s no reason to start picking on the rugger buggers.

or the gah spas for that matter

Jaysus he has you well riled, touchy, touchy.

not in the sligtest touchy padjo, but anytime anyone calls me a rugger bugger, I tend to call them a gah spa back. its mostly my old fella and my girlfriend brothers call me that though.

It tends to work.

a gah spa:p i like it

some of them were gas…especially the one where the writer lists out sports stars that are regarded to be towrads the top of their respected field and who’s name is mentioned only Ryan Nelson the Blackburn Rovers defender…For fuck sake:D

The All Blacks are proper men. They will tear Ireland a new one. Hopefully anyway.

i agree

I reckon it’ll be another in a long list of glorius defeats. Yet another moral Irish victory. In other words - another loss.

what is the weather like for the weekend…The two wins we had against the aussies and the win against the springboks both came in fairly poor weather conditions…heres hoping…

:rolleyes:here’s hoping what?

that a bunch of D4 cunts & rich farmers beat some colony at a game played by 3 colonies in the southern hemisphere & three countries in the northern hemisphere

yippee:rolleyes:

What’s the handicap lads? Surely NZ will beat us by something similar to a few years back what with the back row we picked and the Carter/O’Gara match up.
