Schmidt’s sycophants can’t even acknowledge a player who tries to play with a bit of flair. They ran Zebo for that too. Schmidt’s cult much preferred a Dave Kearney or Fergus McFadden. No room for a talent like Russell or Hogg in the cult of Joe.
The Schmidt bashers who idolised Gatty will be sickened to see the expansive game the Welsh played there in the 2nd half.

They were 1/5 last year and would be 0/2 this year only for red cards. They’ve regressed since Gatlands Grand Slam heroes in 2019.

Yeah a difficult job taking over an ageing team after the brilliant 2019 they had. Took Pivac about 50 games to implement his style at Scarlets apparently. Fewer games in international rugby to adapt to a new system. I was surprised at how poor a season they had last year.
Even under gatland they threw in poor six nations and last season was even trickier due to COVID.
There was a big falling out with the defence coach as well. Jenkins has made a huge difference already.
I bet this time next year they’ll be a serious outfit and great to watch. I don’t get why lads are so obsessed with gatland and his style of play. It was effective but it was awful to watch. He was derided in Wales for “Warrenball”.

Gatty’s Wales played much better rugby than Schmidt’s Ireland
Gatty was always some man to prepare a team.
His record with the British Lions is/was phenomenal.

That isn’t true. The different was they’d fellas like warburton, cubhert, roberts, Davies and the likes could actually run over fellas. It looks great when it works.
They played awful rugby.
