The Rugby Thread (Part 1)

If they beat Toulouse they are real contenders . Big if though in a cavernous Thomond Park

The French don’t travel.

Munster will win that one and win it well.

This is shaping up like Ulster’s asterisked European Cup win in 1999.

What other option did they have? Bar cancelling it… Two domestic leagues ongoing in France and England and a Lions tour to take into account

Clermont probably in Clermont next weekend… Woukdnt fancy the chances over there a 2nd time

None . They had no other option

ROG’s La Rochelle are a very exciting team to watch. Very harum scarum though. Would have expected more structure.

They should have a hatful of tries scored. A decent side but glaws are fucking useless

I believe the USA team were sent out there before the 1999 RWC game in thomand.

Will he be the next Ireland coach?

I hope not pal

Why?

He has another conundrum to resolve first closer to home

How many players of ROG stature in the game as a player who have made it as coaches? In any sports?

V rare really that top end players make top end coaches. ROG still a long way to go as a coach but going the right way about it

Galthie is one maybe.

In NZ they have a heap of v good coaches around same age profile as ROG but none had particularly strong international careers e.g. Tony Brown, Scott Robertson…

Some contrast with GAA.
