Munster would have sold out that Leinster game regardless of what Leinster players were playing based on team they picked themselves anyway.

It’s a complete non story. The French clubs rotate home and away week in week out. The English clubs do similar and their international players also monitored closely by RFU and have limits on game time.

Timing of the derbies mean it’s more pronounced though because European rugby bookends the games so when the season is divided into blocks for game time management it means you have to limit pro12 time to ensure full availability for European cup.

The Welsh do unbelievable bleating about the Irish rotation. Mainly because they can’t even beat the weakened sides generally.

Exact same happens in football and hurling leagues where counties don’t play full strength and wait till championship.

Doesnt say much for the rivalry when they rest players for their big games with each other
