The Rugby Thread (Part 1)

A divil is what you are.

He must be approaching max capacity. Any day now…

Limerick appears to be the only county in Ireland where there’s such a crossover between GAA and rugby football support. Other counties might have a small grouping who actively attend matches across hurling, football and rugby football. But it’s largely weirdos and proddies who solely go to rugby football matches. However, Limerick alone seems to have hundreds of die-hard GAA men and catholic mass goers who passionately follow Munster all over Europe.

This has been dealt with before. There was even a link to a thesis on the social history of City that discusses why soccer and rugby flourished in Limerick.

Keep up, do your home work, or fuck the fuck off.

100% correct

soccer flourished in Limerick?

rattle off a list of internationals from Limerick mate?

How many LOIs have Limerick teams won?

Further to this…

Success plays a part. Sadly Limerick GAA and Limerick FC have been in the doldrums for a long time and people naturally want to associate with something the has success and they used Munster rugger for this end, sadly.

You forget that the population of Limerick City is only about 100k, mate.

Don’t forget Tommy Gaynor pal.

Was he capped tho ? I used to hang with his nephew when Tommy was with Forrest … unlucky not to get more game time with them.

That makes complete sense now you mention it.

Why else would so called GAA men like @anon32894817 and @iron_mike plan their entire weekends around following the red army?

A bit of post colonial Stockholm Syndrome.
