Gas, they were pure dirty and abrasive and would then immediately be full of polite apology and extremely courteous to the ref. Could see local lads trying to figure out- do I dig him back or accept another apology off the cunt?!! Certainly an employed tactic
Their 2 centres were brilliant players. Prop and hooker next best. Could tell the saffers werent used to a heavy pitch. 3 of them down with cramp at one point, dropping all over the place.
Nev hit me a dig one day in the yard after I upended him in a 50/50 tackle. Whatever way we both caught the ball, he went skidding across the basketball court.
Once he got up, he hit me a dig in the sternum and I nearly collapsed inwards.
