The structure of a competition and when it’s on Is massive for any tournament.
29k was decided upon before the outcome of the games were decided. The rental cost is tied to catering etc which they can’t turn around quickly unless they are willing to pay.
The Aviva Stadium needs to be used close to every week to be able to scale up to that degree. Otherwise you have to pay a lot more and have higher ticket prices.

The GAA Split season has finished domestic rugby.

If anything it’s going to kick start it again.
Lot more rugby on Rte now than before the split season.
The new Club season a massive benefit to keeping younger players too.

I mean that’s just made up. Where rugby (and other team sports) are seeing a hit on participation is lads in their 20s. Junior rugby is mobbed.

Pretty healthy attendances over the last few weeks. If it wasn’t a for a Bruce Springsteen concert and Leinster trying to boost the crowd for the semi then you wouldn’t have even noticed.
A good lads I know are gone back seconds and thirds recently.
Decent social circle and a brilliant season.
It’s not mate. Mrs J wouldnt let juhy junior do it and he only mad for smashing lads the last 4 years. A good mate of mine played rugby to a high club level and won’t even let his own kid play it. And hes a monster who would be doing the smashing…

Anecdotes don’t comport to the facts. Your missus would have shit herself over collarbone injuries years ago.
It’ll never be what it was though, but that’s okay. Society has changed. Kids and women making up for it elsewhere.
Any parent letting their kid play rubby should be reported to child services.

The number of concussions at schools level is very high. I would not let my own play rugby.

American football of course very similar to rugby. GGA would be in between probably. Would you let your girls play soccer?
Having played both extensively and coached both there is little or no additional risk in playing club or underage rugby Vs GAA. The way GAA has gone it’s sleepwalking into a massive issue that will just be swept away now under a “look over there it’s rugby” headline
