The Sash my Father wore

Still have that one. Contemplating passing it on to my young fella but he’s unworthy as yet. He did get my maradona 86 world cup Jersey instead this weekend. Little fucker

At least nobody has put up a Tom Brady jersey yet, proving that it is not iconic.

This one though

Dhgate are the job for retro jerseys as well. You have to shop around but have a look in the reviews for pictures to guide you. Got the Dutch and the German one posted here there a while back. The Dutch one is super quality and the German albeit a bit strechy material wise is good quality as well.

That’s a guernsey, not a jersey.

Also not iconic, the Brisbane Lions are the AFL’s equivalent of the MK Dons.

Brisbane Bears amalgamated with Fitzroy to make the Lions. Sydney Swans were South Melbourne.

Neither an MK Dons

Historic teams were put out of existence and their carcass franchised out to non-Aussie Rules cities. That’s MK Dons alright.

They were both going out of existence; they were kept alive by moving. They’ve both won multiple flags since and brought AFL to the previously non-AFL cities to the point they can both now sustain 2 Pro teams in their respective regions.

The VFL/AFL wanted them gone, as they did Melbourne and Hawthorn who they tried to force to merge. Hawthorn are the most successful team of the last 15 years (last 50 actually) and Melbourne are the current champions.

Fitzroy and South Melbourne are dead.

For the few who remember the 78 world cup this Peru jersey was a thing of beauty

I had to google it there and see that ESPN have it as no 1

And both among the most successful clubs in the past 30 years in their current format
