Iâd wholeheartedly agree. Full of banal comments. Trying too hard to be the cute cork hoor withave his bellhop on Loughnane. Iâd imagine Seanie McGrath is being groomed to usher him out.
No real analysis between all 5 guests yesterday. In fairness cummins and Henry tried for the Clare/Galway game.
Out of all the people involved in hurling commentary on RTE, Duignan and OâGrady are the best. They can actually read and analyse the game in a coherent manner, and comment on whatâs going on. The other shit is just embarrassing at this stage.
Shefflin not bad in fairness.

I mean they have Hook and Pope for rugby. Neither with any sort of top level pedigree in the game - International player, top level manager, etc. They are just there for entertainment.
Giles and Brady were obviously great players, but they are fairly hackneyed at this stage. Dunphy cries on TV ffs.
Most people havenât a bogs whatâs going on in a match and have no interest in a serious tactical discussion. RTE have a formula - tabloid over-reaction - Loughnane, Hook, Spillane, Brolly, Dunphy. Bit of measured analysis (the more exotic the better) - Conor OâShea, Shefflin, premiership player of some sort. And then a relic of auld decency - Giles, Cyril, and the likes.

Hook is gone now thankfully, nearly had to be dragged kicking and screaming.
they now have ROG, Horgan, Conor O Shea (probably gone now alright), Lenihan and a wide array of other ex players and coaches for the monday evening show. Pope still involved alright, but less so.
Actually quite decent line up of pundits, wasted though because they have fuck all games to show anymore bar the 6N

Just watching KK Waterford here again. Marty Morrissey, all jokes aside is fucking atrocious. He was awful on the radio yesterday as well.

I havenât seen much of him on TV but I heard him do the live co commentary on the radio a few times with Marry Morrissey and heâs very good at that, knows whatâs going to happen almost before it does.
