The Saturday/Sunday Game Thread

Didn’t the Sky Sports crew analyse the incident ?

@spidey was told over a smoothie. Sure if you can’t believe things you’re told over a post workout smoothie then there’s no hope.

I am taking only about the Sunday game tonight. As I said in previous post Brolly making out that spillane the only reason he was suspended. A joke

Watching the Sunday Game tonight, one who is not familiar with the incident may think that it is Spillane’s fault that Diarmuid Connolly assaulted the linesman

Careful now that’s more Muldoon bias :weary:

It wouldn’t be the first time, pundits put the pressure on the GAA to take disciplinary action against a player.

And if you think that the comments on RTÉ and TSG after the match didn’t influence anything, you’re off your fucking rocker

Sure didn’t Brollys comments about Sean kavanagh introduce the black card?

Joe’s going to have an orgasm here. And why not.

Do you really think if Spillane hadnt mentioned it the whole thing would have been forgotten? I know that would have suited fine but that’s codswallop. Fellas are suspended every day of the week without any the cameras in place

Joe rarely does the Sunday Night version of the Sunday Game. Convenient he’s there for that discussion tonight.

Think they knew this morning what was gonna happen?

No doubt he’s delighted to stick the boot into Pat. I’d say he’s only raging he didn’t get more involved in it at the time, though he tried his hardest

Sounds to me like Joe is the puppet master in all of this

It was Pats very measured script. When does that cunt deliver something that lucid? He’s a bumbling stuttering dinosaur

Jim Gavin says that Diarmuids ‘good name’ was affected by the post match review.

The lass doing this voiceover on the hurling has a lovely voice.

They shouldn’t give out any man of the match award without an interview

That goal by the Carlow hurlers was a dinger.

I’m shocked no one copped that sooner. We were pissing ourselves earlier at that

Connolly being entitled ‘to his good name’

Ask the lad he battered in McGowan’s who suffered a fractured eye socket.

The rule is there in black and white. 12 week ban. Of course Spillane has a vested interested, he was always going to put the boot in. If it was James O’Donoghue he’d be defending him and exonerating him of any blame whatsoever.

Connolly has got away with enough, on and off the pitch. In fairness I didn’t see the incident live so going by the reaction I was expecting a Paolo Di Canio type push. Very disappointed when it turned out to be only a minor incident really. It was completely blown out of proportion but by the letter of the law he was in the wrong.

Spillane was wrong to go to town on him that night but equally Dolan and Brolly were gas there. Ciaran Whelan wasn’t needed with those two towing the party line tonight.
