Great to see a proper local school win.

Wasn’t Kearney from Adare a Limerick minor last year, sub today! Was he carrying an injury?

Not good enough to start, embarrassment of riches.

Ard Scoil Ris has predominantly been taken over by Clare.

Aren’t both teams still in it? Leinster final on Wednesday, all kilkenny final st kieran’s and the cbs. Kieran’s expected to win as usual.
Hard to get excited about another kieran’s win, such is the amount they’ve won. Come April /may they’ll get another trimming by galway when they put on the black and amber.

They are but Harty miles bigger than All Ireland. Nenagh will try obviously but their job is done.

If Ard Scoil is all Clare where are the Limerick hurlers going?

Ard scoil is a city school. They get players from Clonlara, Cratloe, SMB etc who are all east Clare strong senior clubs that are near that side of the city.

They also get players from NAP, Adare, Patrickswell and about 20 other limerick schools.

They had a lad came on today from Dromin/Athlacca. He could have been the difference in getting Charleville cbs to win the semi but alas is on the bench in ASR.

There’s an even more extreme example of this in KK with Kieran’s.

To be fair to limerick county board they realise the limits of ASR and have ploughed money into Doon, hospital and Castletroy

He was mainly a sub for the Limerick minors tbf, as he was only 16. But ASR have a scandalous amount of depth because they go out poaching.

Darragh Gleeson from Adare & Jack Cosgrove from Ahane were actually starting on last year’s Limerick minors and were only coming on as subs today. That Arthur from Newmarket started for the Clare minors too.

Think the likes of James Coughlan & Sean Duff didn’t even come on.

The subs bench in Ard Scoil.
Theres a recognition that there were too many eggs in that particular basket so you’ll be seeing more of Hospital, Doon and Castletroy in the Harty over the next few years and hopefully Newcastlewest in about 5 years.

With Charleville CBS getting their act together lads from Bruree and Athlacca might start going to Charleville again.

Charleville always a fairly decent hurling school just killed by numbers?

Fair play to Nenagh today, some way to win it, I was on the first ever ASR Harty team that were beaten by a point by Nenagh in Emly in October 1989.

The school had gone downhill so a lot of good hurlers went to Drumcollogher and Kilfinane. Turned around in about the last 2 years, all the young hurlers going to Charleville again. Should be a real force in a few years.

Thats class, had a cup with history (not Harty level now) in the house for a night a few years back. Spent hours thinking about the famous hurlers that had won it.

He got a detached retina in the autumn. Only working his way back into things.
