Castlecomer had a few Kilkenny minors of 2024 & a generally very strong side they were unbackable favourites for this one so a brilliant win for Enniscorthy CBS who are far from a colleges strongholdā¦im not certain if today was knockout but i think it is at B level

Mary I use of the ball quite poor in the first half. Shape of their FF line & deliveries in all leave a lot to be desired.
DCU picking them off, boosted by the soft goal.
Not sure of the wind situation, Mary I certainly arenāt out of it but they need to use the ball better.

McLaughlin is classy tbf, won the ball brilliantly and had a shot saved.
McDonagh hit the crossbar with the rebound but got first to the break to finally finish it.

DCU 1-13 Mary I 1-09 at HT
DCU definitely the better team in the first half but, having said that, they got a very fortuitous goal, dropped into the net by Conway.
Mary I have a lot of bodies back around the middle but have still somehow managed to leave DCU players in acres of space in scoring positions on multiple occasions. Really odd tbh.
And DCU have held their shape fairly well; the Mary I inside forward line seem to be very isolated.
Thereās definitely a strong argument that SOB & McLaughlin are clearly the most talented players on show but DCU working better as a unit at the moment.
Billy Reid from Kilkenny at wing-back has been very impressive as have the two Offaly lads in midfield, Shirley & Spain. Joe Flanagan from Dublin has also looked dangerous and got a few points. Moylan and Sam Bourke decent aswell.
Mary I backs have been alright too: Lawless & Quilty have done some good things, Hennessy is lively in midfield but just donāt seem to have hit their flow yet for whatever reason.
I donāt know that, I presume theyāre injured?
