The School, College & University Competitions Thread (another thread gone west)

Commentator very annoying. Dcu dóchas eireann.

Mary I had cut the gap to 1 but they’ve shot themselves in the foot in the past few minutes.

Podge in a running battle with the linesman, it sounds like :joy:

Barry McNulty and Paul Honeyman into the sigerson final @farmerinthecity .Tom Prior lining out tomorrow night for DCU in the other semi.Honeyman missed a penalty and Barry scored one in the shootout.

DCU win by 2.

SOB scored some unbelievable points to pull Mary I back into it but DCU had done enough.

They knew how to spoil it at the very end, just fall on the ball in the ruck and the ref kept throwing it in.

The Westmeath fella DCU brought on probably should have been starting, he was very lively.

Lightning struck for Mary I to win it last year really

Mary I were poor, over reliant on SOB. played some poor passes all over the place most notably 1 ball back to coneay which he was lucky to re gather and them quiltys last min free which he over cooked … didnt deserve to win

On the HE gaa website, maynooth beat ucd, dcu beat trinity, mary i beat tus midwest and ul beat ug

Tipped over to DCU earlier. The home side were the much better outfit. Dominated in midfield with the two Offaly lads. Won most battles in defence too.

Mary I had the better individuals on show. Sam Bourke gave Shane O Brien his fill in the first half but O Brien was wasted as a deep wing forward. He also missed two poor frees. He was very good closer to goal in the 2nd half. Quilty was good too. However DCU exploited a lack of pace in the Mary I defence. They really should have won by more.

Muller and Billo will be turning in their graves

Did Darragh Carley start?

Yeah wing forward. Good set of wheels under him but end product was poor. Butchered an early goal chance

How did Joe Flanagan go?

Joe went fine. Played at 11 for most of it. Hit two early points from distance. However then had a few wayward attempts. Poor shot selection.

Got a score in the second half that was badly needed. Also won a badly needed free when things were not going well

He comes from great stock, he’d be Cian Byrne’s cousin. There’s a few of them of the same family who could easily be on the same Wexford panel the next few years.
