The School, College & University Competitions Thread (another thread gone west)

Who might Paudie be referring to there?

That’s what’ll happen when you have an alcoholic pisshead drunk as your manager.

i was at NUIM and QUB last night
the prods won by a point in what was deemed a relative suprise
Marty Clarke was playing for them and kicked 5 points, he had a disease or some shit when he was in Australia with the AFL crowd and is back home now.
He is the Paul Flynn of SIgerson apparantly, a complete simpleton who was playing for St.Marys two years (year) ago and now is lining out for QUB
In time honored tradition it was a top notch game of championship football watched by about 15 people, honestly there was more interest in the lads playing 5 a side on the Astro accross the way then there was on this, there wasnt even a sign up directing patrons to the venue buried deep in the Universtity, there were randon students walking about but no one knew it was on.
Top class game tho, QUB are very good as are maynooth , i attended the game with the brother of a Fermanagh panelist who told me that Pete Mcgrath was a disgiusting prick of a man and that Fermangh are training like mad men but Sean Quigley is out drinking most weekends. This fella backed UCC to win it mainly as he hates UUJ as its full of “Tyrone scum” .and that “wanker” McBrearty is there
An utter joke of a competition tho but something to do on a wednesday evening

Bitterness from the gah fraternity towards other members of the gah fraternity?

Lash up the fixtures there and i’ll call them for you.

No so sure about the Fitz but St.Pats a great bet against GMIT in the Sigerson.

Did anyone read as far as this bit?

“I read recently about Dublin footballer Ciarán Kilkenny who is a student at St Pat’s [Drumcondra]. In St Pat’s they still have a model where the students run the team. Ciarán spoke about how he was in charge of one of the teams out there; they went out to play a match in Monasterevin, but the bus couldn’t get under a bridge, he had to get off the bus to try and solve that problem and ended up carrying a bag of around 12 footballs half a mile down the road. That sort of experience… a lot of the people at third-level are being disenfranchised, they are not been given that experience because outside coaches are being brought in.

UUJ should win it but probably won’t.

St Marys seem to have a very good team this year.

Them outside coaches are too big for their bridges

Yes,

i believe The North County Corncrake would have labelled that as “twee”

He should have let the air out of the tyres.

If they had a proper coach, he’d have known that.

DIT at home are a big price but still wouldn’t fancy them. Do Mary I have any injuries for their game against NUIG? That looks like the only competitive game.

Mary I will win it

Really Joe ? So will they account for nuig tomorrow easily enough? Why are you so confident. Would you recommend

Yes I am sure our boys will

Thats some contradictory post, even for you

@caoimhaoin will you be in the Dyke tomorrow?
