The Seething thread

And if anybody wants it, they can have it for the postage cost.

On An Post… Yeah, I’d agree with ya’s on An Post, I’m just pissed off I’ve to go through the rigmarole of having to be tested for another hearing aid… We do good postal/library services in this country as far as I’m concerned.
I bought a bed on amazon there during the week, cost me €30 odd euro for customs charge. I usually go with An Post addresspal cause I buy electrical items, and you can’t get electrical items I noticed if you don’t have an English address… So what I’m asking is, if I didn’t have addresspal, would I still get charged the €30 if I just went with my home address?

The wankfest on TNT about KDB has me absolutely seething here.

Drink it in man

John McGuinness was (rightly) seething there on Drivetime with the Farrelly report published today. An absolute whitewash as you’d expect. Whatever progress we’ve made as a nation, the old practices of denial and obfuscation remain firmly embedded in many institutions.

At least someone’s fees for St Michaels/Blackrock/Clongowes etc will get paid out of the €13mil

And that’s all that matters really.

Sadly true.

ā€œSince 1998 the state has spent half a billion on inquiriesā€ as per the Taoiseach yesterday

 And the numbers found guilty and punished accordingly - miniscule.
There’s a gap for good, forensic dirt-diggers out there right now.
Time to remove these barrister fattening exercises from the legal world and hand it over to TFK on a results based arrangement.

This is not important. What is important is that LESSONS WERE LEARNED.

Procedures were put in place to make sure this never happens again

Except they absolutely weren’t.

That’s the whole point

We were told there were but I find that unlikely. The whole scandal stinks to high heaven but nothing will alter yesterday’s report.
We’re a great nation to cover up wrongdoings and then call for public inquiries, tribunals and whatever the learned judiciary deem most profitable.
I could have reached the same conclusions as the beef tribunal in 15 minutes - Goodman was playing puck unhindered = the end.

An absolute waste of €36m at early 1990’s prices.

True that. Your neighbouring big legal firm Tanseys in Sligo must be rowling in money these days. Every claim where a health provider is the defendant is being prosecuted by Tanseys and I’ve yet to see them on the losing side. No doubt they’re taking these cases on a possible 50/50 basis.

Yeah they represented that poor family from Clare who’s daughter died on a trolley in Limerick
