The Seething thread

Yea, I saw that, I presume he is only referring to below 1st Division. Maybe he was with Greystones for a bit, they had a few GAA boys up there over the years. The Rigneys et al.

The luvvies are utterly boring at this stage.

I’m beside myself with rage here. I’m dealing with two miserable spinster bastard colleagues re their summer leave allocation for 2017, they’re refusing to listen to reason, the 2 cunts have fuck all else going on in their lives and can manage to dedicate the entire month of November ringing and emailing me asking the same questions over and over again. I’ve just blocked the younger of the 2 from my phone for a bit of peace.
Then the office spastic thought it would be amusing to move a laptop I had left outside the WC while I nipped in for a pee.
I walked the entire building scratching my head wondering where I had left it and
I then possibly overreacted when he asked me was I looking for a laptop that he’d ‘found’ in the tearoom.
I told him I’d follow him home and kick his big stupid mong head in. I think he was taken aback just a bit.

What’s the problem with the summer holidays?

The two cunts want to take them in August and because leave reserve ratios have been reduced it means that only 1 person can be off at a time.
I’ve presented them with the figures and facts and HR guidelines, but they’ve dug up old legislation about an entitlement to summer leave during the months of July & August.
This legislation only applies if HR agree, and they won’t/ can’t.
Gas thing is they’ve never taken leave in those 2 months before. …but because they now can’t … they want to. What’s really annoying me is that they’re forcing one lady, mother of 2 kids to take her summer leave in late Sept. They’re just 2 evil cunts.
Nothing going on in their lives only shitty clerical jobs.

Thinly veiled “I fancy the mother of two” post there from Brimmer.

Even if they’re entitled to leave in July or Aug that doesn’t mean it has to be Aug surely? Or longer than a day or two?

Some working time act dictates* that you get a minimum of 10 working days off in the summer leave period.
The summer leave period runs May 1st to Sept 30th.

  • At the departments/ company’s discretion.

Ah she’s shoving on now, was a fine bird in her day, one of the nicest people I know inside or outside of work, these two bastards want to deny her two weeks off with her kids.

Sure that’s grand one can go in May, one in June and neither in Aug (at your discretion for them acting the prick)

IIt’s not entirely up to me, I’ll get something sorted eventually, but right now this thing is their lives at the moment.
It’s what they talk about 24/7 and will do until they’ve driven me over the top.
I’m currently looking into borrowing a casual from another dept… but they don’t want that, in case there’s a retired staff member brought back… and that’ll threaten their seniority…
I’m not actually making this up, in case you think I am.
These are 2 miserable poisonous tramps.

I remember running a call centre in Shannon a few years back. Unfortunately it was an American company. So Christmas day was the only day off. Even though we only needed a skeleton staff, between Christmas and new year, there was one goal, who would book it off for the following year as soon as she came back to work. After three years and many valid complaints, a rotators system was introduced. She went fucking nuts and went to HRS. Only to be told that I had approached them about it first and as long as there was a general agreement among the staff, I could do as I wanted. She was the only one that was against it. Handed in her notice two weeks later.

Aren’t you a Public/Civil servant?

Seniority applies in the allocation of annual leave.

Yeah. That’s what’s annoying me. These 2 are very senior, and all along it didn’t matter because they’re a small enough dept and the numbers meant that there was 2 off during the summer leave period.
Now however, after a retirement didn’t need to be replaced and new leave reserve ratios it means only one person is allowed to be off.
The two dragons always took leave in sept/oct. now they’ve spotted a chance to get at the younger junior staff members by taking up four weeks between them in August. Unfortunately as they’re senior there’s not a lot I can do about it.
