When players stopped lining up for the anthem in the position they would play and beside their marker was the start of this modern hurling.
Always a chance when anthem finished a corner forward would be already flattened.

How long has this coordinated hand shaking been going on at the start of games?

I don’t think so really. I’ll find out why it was introduced when I can. It is the first year it’s happened though isn’t it? Did they do it for the Galway game?

I would think the president was excited when he heard Limerick were in town.

The fitzgibbon cup has eroded intercounty rivalry. The lads are all mates now and wouldn’t pull a proper stroke. Intercounty player shouldn’t be allowed to go to college, trades would be a better option for them.
