@padjo???
It’s been in decline since 1996
Rattled. You’re like a closeted lad going on about how much he hates the gays. Just admit you watched both games and enjoyed them and you will feel much better.
im from Dublin mate
Shur de dubs love the hurling. Most of them are just too windy to play it to a decent standard.
what?
Very perceptive of TSG despite not watching the game. Just looking at the scoreboards tells you everything you need to know.
The stats don’t lie
The all-Ireland champions are from Dublin.
I think you and I are onto something here.
Real hurling men
The other jinnets can’t see what’s happened to their game.
It’s a decent point tbh. The start of the second half was a bit of a joke yesterday. There was five scores straight away between the 35th and 40th without an opposition player laying a hand on anyone. Don’t see any great ambition to change it or don’t even know how you’d go about it
The ball is too light now.
Agreed
That’s a specious argument. The ball/balls has/have been the same for at least 20 years. Except for 2003 when O’Neills put rubber cores in the balls and it caused chaos.
I didn’t mean literally I meant more in terms of the players size and physique has changed. They are much stronger now. The Hurley’s probably have been modernized too. They’ve a similar problem in golf.
It is a fair point but I’ve seen it made a couple of times over the past 2 or 3 years in the media but everyone is so enthralled by the action, it doesn’t get picked up on and it’s hard to complain after the entertainment this year.
Case in point, the Galway v Kilkenny drawn game was a cracker with some showpiece defending on both sides but got some criticism for not being as exciting or free scoring as the games in Munster.
Is it a problem, I don’t think so.
I certainly miss the sturm und drang of old school championship Hurling. Schemozzles not rucks. The randomness created by ground Hurling and overhead pulling. Lads being cleaved, no helmets for the brave
