The Shame I feel about Dublin as my šŸ capital (and other random cities in videos that Muldoons think is Dublin)

I donā€™t know whoā€™s responsible but I imagine most people are probably thinking the same thing about the beliefs the perpetrator may or may not have.

I think this is likely to be a very major news incident that dominates headlines for quite a while.

This is very bad. I hope itā€™s not true.

Thereā€™s plenty possibilities as to what could have happened.

Itā€™s awful either way though. Attacking kids is about as evil as things get.

A Fine Gael councillor has said he was cycling to Dublin City Hall just after 2pm when he heard siren activity.

Naoise Ɠ MuirĆ, a former lord mayor of Dublin, said the emergency services response was ā€œincredibly quickā€ as there were vehicles coming from everywhere to Parnell Square.

He described the exact location half way up on the eastern side of the square on the residential side.

He added that it was very hard to tell what was happening, but he had never seen anything like it.

I can think of two possibilities. A mentally ill person, maybe a mentally ill parent, might be one possibility. We know what the other one is.

There arenā€™t a large range of possibilities as to why somebody would stab small children coming out of a school.

There is a homeless hostel/shelter fairly near there Iā€™m sure too. Not that the homeless would be any more likely but could draw a wrongā€™un.

I was visiting someone in the Mater Hospital last night and walked up & down Parnell Street twice, alone.

It could have been me :grimacing:

A whole range of stuff covered by that.

Youā€™d never know, could be a fight that just went way out of hand.

It does sound like what you think it is though

The general area can be ā€œedgyā€ alright, as Iā€™m sure everybody here knows.

What will the reaction of the Justice minister be? A piecemeal few extra hours overtime for the cops on the streets of Dublin for a couple of weeks or develop an actual long term strategy to make the inner city a safer and more desirable place to be.

Anyway please God there are no fatalities.
A child going to school is just about as innocent as you can get.

Itā€™s right beside Mater so hopefully that has made a difference.

God love them and their parents.

Sadly, the way its gone nowadays, it really depends on the child.

Thereā€™s a thread for that.

ā€œThree people hospitalised - a girl, a woman and the assailantā€.

Incident took place outside Gaeilscoil Colaiste Mhuire.

Ireland is number 3 in safest countries in the world.

Thereā€™s nothing a cop can do to prevent a person having a psychotic episode who wants to harm a child.
