The Shame I feel about Dublin as my 🐐 capital (and other random cities in videos that Muldoons think is Dublin)

I got a Saxon T-shirt there back in the day. Corkman Robin Power (of the Trocadero site in London fame) assembled the site and built it out in partnership with British Land. Power went wallop in the early 90s and British Land assumed sole control. They held an interest in the centre until 2005 when with impeccable timing they sold it back to the Paddies.

I recall the efforts to get a cinema on the roof about 10 years ago. The Ward Anderson schism stopped that.

There’s a book to be written on that topic and how they controlled the market in Dublin.

There used to be a Kylemore Cafe in SSG. It may well be there. A fine place for lunch for those of us who remember the treat it was in Eyre Square

Think that’s gone about 15 years.

Yeah they screwed up the food options in there. Lovely place to sit at the window.

And they have the gall to accuse people of beong far right

When I was in primary, the height of sophistication was coffee in roches stores which comprised Nescafé with a big blob of cream on and about 4 sugars.

Who? Actual Blueshirts or Blue blouses?
They must be well over 100 years old, it’s surprising they can accuse anybody of anything :man_shrugging:

1933 it says on the photo. The most populous women’s organisation in the Republic with more members than all the others put together.
In 1933 in fairness, the Nazis were still ostensibly socialist and didn’t like the empire.

Bumped for @Corksfinedtboy

Yes in 1933 the Nazis were so socialist they were banning trade unions and sending their leaders to concentration camps.

Sigh I said ostensibly mate.

Not ostensibly.

The Nazis were as socialist as the German Democratic Republic was democratic.

O’Duffy was an effective crank who flamed out pretty quickly. I know it’s a funny one for a bit of ribbing but this fits into the overblown category.

I recall PTSB doing a hard sell on 50k units to own a piece of the SSGC in the mid 2000s.

I wonder if the Investors got anything back.

You need to read a bit more around it.

I’m referencing modern Irish history
Especially the hunger strikes. (. Both )
And dirty protest,
Free state governments inept dept of/ for foreign affairs during the whole war,
And their ineptitude ref bringing the murder squads to heel ref Dublin and Monaghan bombings,
Shoot to kill ,targeting of GAA members and ordinary nationalists in the 6 counties,
Ignoring blatant collusion ,
List goes on,
Secondary teachers in the 6 counties taught more than some down here
( against the curriculum but nevertheless took it upon themselves in Creggan and other nationalist areas of Derry to teach the kids our history)

It’s a topic in Leaving Cert history you clown.

Just making stuff up appears to be the way.
