So murder carries a mandatory life sentence but planning to kill and actually shooting someone in the head and killing them resulted in a 7 year sentence?
Make it make sense.

Did you get chiya to takeaway? I dunno would it travel well. It’s a German style kebab where they cut the bread open and toast it.

I had a zaytoon a while back having not had one in ten years plus and it was class.

Ate in the restaurant on Dame street because I like to get it fresh. You’re right, nothing worse than soggy bread delivered to you. If I’m going to get a kebab, I’ll have it there on the premise. I don’t like the German style thing, if that’s what it is. It felt to me like it was just toasted bread with dry meat and a bit of coleslaw, and to be honest with you, it was a bloody letdown. Not for me, maybe some people like that, but I could never eat that again. All day long, naan bread, thank you.

Would make a cracking pub or something

:grinning:

A microbrewery or distillery on site with a bar / restaurant would be class there. All you need is someone with very very deep pockets who doesn’t plan to get any of it back.

You can’t take them anywhere…

Its sort of comforting to see the North Strand and Ballybough haven’t changed much over the centuries

As I was writing my post about there being no team starting with the letter W in the English First Division there a few moments ago, I was disturbed by some shouting. The C3 bus was stopped at Merchants quay, and I looked back from the second seat upstairs on the left to see an athletic enough looking fella of maybe 22 or 23 dressed in green t shirt and shorts and a grey beanie cap standing on the pavement shouting furiously in the window of the bus at somebody presumably sitting towards the back of the lower deck.

“Ya fuckin PAEDO, ya doorty black bastard, ya fookin’ PAEDO BLACK BASTARD ya…”

Not sure which poster here he is.

Parents guilty of neglect as toddler wandered alone in ‘dirty socks and full nappy’ on Dublin street
Child was found wandering by gardaí and was ‘very hungry’ when discovered

A mother and father have been given suspended sentences for wilfully neglecting their toddler who was found by gardaí wandering alone down a busy Dublin street with no shoes, “very hungry” and soaked through from a full nappy.

The boy (3) managed to escape from a first-floor apartment unnoticed by his “heavy-sleeping” mother and was missing for 45 minutes before she called gardaí, a court heard.

The woman (34) and her husband (36) had denied neglecting their child, their defence maintaining that although the incident was harrowing, the boy was otherwise cared for and it was a single mistake and a case of “misfortune and inadvertence”.

Finding them guilty and giving them six-month suspended sentences, Judge John Hughes said “God only knows” what would have happened if the child had not been found by a passing garda.

Garda Sergeant Paul Cooke of the Armed Support Unit told Dublin District Court he was driving in the inner city at 10.30am on June 24 last year when he saw the young boy walking on a “busy thoroughfare.”

Gda Sgt Cooke pulled up and noticed “straight away” that the boy had urinated in his nappy, which was full and leaked down his trousers.

The toddler had no shoes and his socks were black with dirt. He was “good-natured” but could not give his address or his parents’ names.

Garda GrĂĄinne Coleman took the boy to the Bridewell garda station, where he was given cereal and a banana.

“He ate them quite quickly, it appeared he hadn’t eaten that morning,” she said.

The child’s mother rang gardaí at 11.15am to report him missing.

The Childcare Act was invoked and the boy was put into care by Tusla.

The boy’s father said his wife and child were “fast asleep” together when he left to go to his methadone clinic that morning.

The door was bolted from the inside, but the father had to open it.

The mother said the boy had been up late because it was a hot night and they both slept in together.

She was a “very heavy sleeper” and did not notice him getting out of bed or hear him opening the door. He had stood on a bag to open it.

I was in a frantic state. It was a complete shock, I was in hysterics
When she woke up to find the boy gone, she “ran around screaming” looking for him.

“I was in a frantic state. It was a complete shock, I was in hysterics,” she said. “I thought something had happened to him. As a mother, it completely broke me.”

A neighbour came and said he had got out and the gardaĂ had him.

Although the parents had a history of addiction, they were managing this and there was no evidence they were under the influence of narcotics at the time, their barrister Paul Larkin Coyle said.

No fear of him heading off for a days work - admittedly at 10.30……
