The whole Liverpool thing this year is mad. I canât think of a precedent. They were fully expected to be on the slide without klopp, they havenât really signed anyone new and all of a sudden theyâre on an almost unprecedentedly good run and look close to unbeatable. And suddenly everyone else in England and Europe look shite. Not just relative to them either. Theyâve just gone to shite.

Itâs unreal. There was disappointment last season when the title drifted out of their grasp in April. You felt that Liverpool may not be in the lead so late in the title race for a long time to come. Then Slot rocks up with minimal fuss as a relative unknown and it turns out the glory days have been extended. Very few if any posters here wouldâve been aware of the Feyernoord manager this time last year. The PSV manager Bosz must be a serious operator to have pipped Slot to the title last season.
Slot is literally the new Bob Paisley. Except Paisley didnât win anything in his first season in charge.
League is now well and truly over
Strong shades of 2019-20 about it. Liverpool basically signed nobody (bar Adrian and Harvey Elliot) before that season too.
