Just saw this lad playing in Vicar Street. Huge crowd, and rightly so. One of the best albums ever.
Any of our slightly older posters remember this song? (Obviously not the really elderly like Fagan and Boxty). These lads were from Sligo and played Self Aid in Dalyer. Only heard it this week for the first time and I think itās absolutely brilliant.
Great shout Thraw. It is indeed a smashing tune. Dont remember it myself from itās original release but Tom Dunne used to play it occasionally when he had his Pet Sounds show on Today FM. Its on one of the compilation albums he had out of the Top Irish tunes. Think it was the second abum. At one stage he got the band to reform and they played the song at an outside broadcast he did. To think Sligo went from this to Westlife
Sligo is a noble county
I donāt care if I may have posted this before.

A great irish track made even better by the fact that itās produced by insane Joy Division/Factory Records producer Martin Hannett.

I was going to put this into the Guilty Pleasures thread but I think it deserves to be here.
A smashing pop tune

This is fucking deadly, The Band were amazing. Hudson is still one of the best musicians on the planet and Danko was all soul.

What about Helm, Thraw? Heās my favourite and the lynchpin of The Band. RR prob deserves praise too despite being a prize cunt. All in all a superb band.
Goes without saying that Levon is a legend. I picked out Hudson and Danko as they are generally unheralded. Itās a tricky one. Robertson was a great songwriter but only with the rest of the group and heās a real cunt.
Ah ok, you were just making sure the other lads didnāt feel left out. As well as everything else, Robbie hasnāt aged very well. Looks like Jabba The Hut these days. Levon is still trim.
