What do you make of Cope Fagan? I think he is one of the most underrated musicians of his generation.
I rate him very highly as a musician, entertainer and cultural commentator. His solo gig in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham (indoor)some 20 years ago was one of the best I’ve seen. His books are great reads.
I saw him about 5 years back in Tripod. He wasn’t great I thought. Ruined some of the songs such as Sunspots by rambling away in the middle of it, and Promised Land by turning on some thunder sound effects. I suppose that’s his character and part of the reason why he’s so great.
Peggy Suicide and Jehovahkill are two of as fine of albums as you’re likely to hear. Yet they appear on no great albums of all time lists.
