The Machine - Moons of Neptune
Albini produces Callahan
âTonight Iâm swimminâ to my favourite island. And I donât want to see you swimminâ behindâ
Smog - I Break Horses
I presume many of you will have heard this before, it came on during my spin to work this morning and as usual I was extremely moved by it, thought Iâd post it for anybody who hasnât heard it, everybody should listen to this, the intro is absolutely extraordinary,
I think this is from the LA Coliseum during the Born in the USA tour

Thats an unreal performance of that tune. Just beautiful.
"when the army gets you, theyâre gonna make a man outta you!
I went to take my physical
What happened
They wouldnât take me
He said thats good
First time I heard that version I cried like a baby, shivers down my spine, the whole lot. that is a beautiful moment between father and son, something that lots of us could probably relate to in some way
Great tune - my favourite Springsteen song by a long shot.
On that vein of father/son Breadâs classic, âEverything I Ownâ, was written by David Gates about his father who had passed away. Knowing that, the lyrics take on a new dimension.
ââŚyou never said too much but still you showed the way, and I knew from watching youâŚâ
Wahey! Second person to post Deftones. @maroonandwhite posted them in the Angry Metal Thread a while back.
Daycent tune - new album sounds fairly meh.
Havenât listened to it. There prior three were ok but nothing special. They probably hit their peak with âWhite Ponyâ and âAround The Furâ but âAdrenalineâ is my favourite.
Same as. Very raw and stripped back. I love the hidden track on Around the Fur, Damone. One of their best, and an indicator of where the band was heading.
Iâm listening to Passenger from White Pony at the minute. The huge guitar sound and MJKâs vocals offset the quiet verses perfectly.
Would you be into any new metal bands?
In terms of metal, only âDeftonesâ, âToolâ and âThe Smashing Pumpkinsâ and a few others.
Iâm open to new suggestions regarding any genre though. I listen to everything, although my iPod is like 90% Hip-Hop.
Make that 3. Not a huge fan, lost interest a bit after White Pony, which admittedly is excellent. Continuing the father and son theme of above, my young lad is a bigger fan than I am, and claims this is their best song, no doubt as itâs the closest sounding to those Meshuggah cunts.
Gore is certainly dividing the fan base, way too pop orientated for the metal heads.
Itâs been mentioned here before, youâre young lad has good taste in music. And you need to give Meshuggah a break.
90% hip hopâŚChristâŚthereâs about 20 decent hip hop albums, the rest are just nigger musicâŚitâs safe to say you have zero credibility when it comes to music. Now please leave the thread.
Better than Bruce fucking Springsteen anyway.
Middle of the road, safe, inoffensive, to the masses, shite.
@Mac is a fan. Says it all.
Woah woah woah
