What an album!
Rodriguez - Establishment Blues
This version of Lassie by the Clancys on the Late Late just gets me every time.
In advance of their gig tomorrow night in the Iveagh Gardens, hereās a couple from Pixies.

The only band that mattered from that eraā¦ Joy DIvision, live in Paris 18 December 1979, Shadowplay
Thatās alright mate, no oneās asking you to.
The only Joy Division recording in existence of Ceremony, the song that launched New Orderās career. Live in Birmingham, May 2, 1980, just before Ian Curtis checked out. The sound engineer had the gain turned down on the vocals for the first verse (you can hear the vocals faintly being picked up by a guitar mic) , its pretty impressive when he turns it up for the chorus.
Joy Division? āThe only band that matteredā from that era? Are you high? That slogan is solely reserved for The Clash.
Yes
Possibly the most overrated band in the history of music, and totally irrelevant
Heathen!
Fuck sake, youāre telling us that one band mattered in that absolute golden age for music ?
You donāt half talk shit ,
They are overrated, but to call them irrelevant is quite silly.
The House of Love were a cracking band and Shine On is a wonderful tune.
And they came long after Joy Division.
The The were excellent too. I could take or leave the Jam.
