Electric Warrior by T Rex is a favourite of mine as well but not up to the standard of Roxy’s debut.

Popul Vuh. Through Pain to Heaven. Magnificent bit of Krautrock here still used to this day by death metallers Opeth as their walk on music. From the soundtrack to Nosferatu

The greatest remix of them all? Renegade Soundwave Leftfield remix. First heard this on the XMas dust up tape given away free with the nme in 1994. It blew my socks off then and still does now.

Their own Whistling Guitar mix is better for me bro.

This is a bit sad. It’s the remnants of a band, an attempt to keep things going. Fishmans were a fun Japanese dub group in the 90s and underwent a weird Joy Divison type transition to inventing dream pop. They had a few classic albums, then the singer died and they disappeared. This is a revival effort, with a guest singer from 2005. The star of the show is Yoko Honzi, on the far right side of the stage, sadly close to the end of her own life, she died from cancer at 36 in 2007. In her prime she was unreal, switching from analog keys to synths, electric violin and then full size accordion in the same song live.

Paul Robeson - Ol’ Man River

When this is over, and I can don my boot cut jeans, pointy brown shoes, 10 year old Donegal jersey, (or some other top with horrible colour clashes) and dance around in the back room or lounge of some roaster pub in rural Ireland, loaded up on vodka and red bull and farts and dance around in a circle like a hobo…
