Bruce Springsteen - Adam Raised a Cain
Listening to Darkness on the Edge of Town here, itâs a great auld record, as they used to say.
Going through Cork band Boa Morteâs back catalogue this morning. Easy listening if slightly downbeat stuff, but if anyone is into the minimal stuff like Smog, Bill Callahan, you might like this.
Will dig into some Sumac and Old Man Gloom after it to change things up!!
Top tune. Canât decide if the man is an arsehole or an alright sort thoughâŠ
By God. Christmas?
I think Iâll give that one a lash
Bronski Beat - Smalltown Boy.
An extraordinary song. One of those times when everything comes together in a magic musical moment.
A song by a gay group about a gay man suffering in a homophobic world in early 80âs Britain, brilliantly written. And set to one of the best synth riffs out there. Complete with a superb video.
Pushed around and kicked around, always a lonely boy
You were the one that theyâd talk about around town as they put you down
And as hard as they would try theyâd hurt to make you cry
But you never cried to them, just to your soul
No, you never cried to them, just to your soul
More Japanese. Most noise stuff â Boris and all that â is only an idea. But LRD⊠For CAN fans. I love thisâŠ
After me giving out about current pop music I post a current pop music song.
The Weeknd - Blinding Lights
Following on from @Fagan_ODowd in the 80âs thread. Soul II Soul Get a Life, just missed the cut.
Old Jape came on my mix during a run earlier and got me through a tough last km.
Write it down cos you wonât be cominâ baaaaaccccckkkkkk.
This Weeknd fella is very good in fairness. Probably my favourite âpopular artistâ right now.
