The Smashing Tunes Thread (Part 2)

Haven’t listened to Modest Mouse much in last 15 years. The album with Johnny Marr wasn’t particularly good and kind of tuned out then. This recent track is a good one though

Cracker

A nice easy listening album here. Some reworkings of his tunes. I haven’t heard part 2, but this is a decent listen. A fella I was never really too bothered about listening to or seeing, but do like some of his stuff.

Don’t know this one. He has some cracking songs, some I could take or leave.

Along much of the same lines, David Gray had a few decent efforts too,

This was played at every house party in the early years of this century. I still like it.

I’ve been listening to them a lot lately. You didn’t like that album? Loads of their best tracks ever on it I thought.

Insert ‘I prefer their earlier stuff’ line here…
They’d a great run before that album with The Lonesome Crowded West, Moon and Antarctica, Good News…, so I just felt a bit disappointed by it. Actually that was the only tour I got to see them play, with Marr on guitar. I think Isaac Brock could be a bit of a conspiracy theorist guy now so maybe that put me off them for a bit

That’s a superb album and lovely recording. Was lucky enough to see them live as they rarely toured, they were sublime.
