Fair play to him after the late finish last night.
Jaysus Selby is a miserable olayer. He had a chance to open the pack from a safety but just gave one red a little nudge. Anti snooker.
Robertson is playing awful. He’s getting plenty of chances and not capitalising. Robertson in first again in this frame and misses on 42 to let Selby straight back in for a frame winning 92. 7-3 now to Selby.
Wilson 7-5 Trump at the mid session interval
Yeah Robertson has been poor but playing Selby would drag anyone down. I wouldnt mind but Selby doesn’t need to resort to that standard.
Il tear my eyeballs from their sockets if Selby wins this out.
All 4 players tonight are playing poorly.
Winner of Ronnie and Williams strong favourite.
That’s a cracking frame for Robertson to win.
That could have been a crucial frame for Wilson to go 7-5 up as both had several chances to win that 12th frame
Its going to ebb and flow over the course of 17 days. Ronnie looked unbeatable over first two rounds, he stank the place out this afternoon to go 2-6 down. Who would have thought Maflin after playing so well first two rounds in beating Gilbert and Higgins would be 1-7 to McGill, who was poor in scrapping past Clarke 13-12.
The eventual winner has 36 frames on the board after the quarter final with another 35 still to win.
Robertson presented with another good chance with the balls well spread after Selby breaks down on 46 but can only score 16 before running out of position and Selby back in again in no time after yet another slack safety shot from Robertson. 8-4 at the mid session to Selby.
Selby looking good to force a respotted black in Frame 13. Selby got back in after Robertson missed a dolly of a blue to go 49 ahead to more or less clinch the frame.
Wilson leads 10-6 overnight
Robbo eventually wins Frame 13 on a respotted black. It’s slow and turgid. Kyren Wilson 10-6 up and finished for the night against Trump.
Selby just tries to bore his opponent into submission. Longer format suits the cunt perfectly.
Is that not what snooker is? Tactical play, “snookering” your opponent waiting for them to slip and then taking the opportunity
It is. I don’t particularly have a problem with how Selby plays. It is attritional but it’s effective. A properly focussed and sharp Robertson would possibly be ahead in this match as he’s had plenty of opportunities. He’s not out of it yet though, if he can win 2 of the last 3 frames tonight.
I love watching Selby. I think tactical play is more engrossing than just watching fellas clear up. I love how he gets his opponents to wilt. He’s an incredible competitor.
Selby now the bookies favourite unsurprisingly.
Selby vs Wilson the jolly in the “name the finalists” market.
Williams will be hard bet if he continues his form from yesterday. I would make him favourite at this stage.
