The Snooker Thread (Part 1)

Fair enough Manuel. Hopefully Sidney agrees.

Draw takes place tomorrow.

Ronnie & Ding the 2 to beat with these due to meet in the semis.

Robertson will fancy himself to come through the other half
That’s another final frame Fergal will have nightmares about, he lost the 2001 Masters final to Paul Hunter when he really should have won.

I didn’t know Robbie Williams was from Merseyside - I see he’s actually from Wallasey which means he’s not technically a Scouser.
Paul Hunter famously rode his bird during the break between sessions and turned around the deficit.

Impossible to see past O’Sullivan on his form the last year or so. But 6/4 is far too skinny for a tournament like this for my liking.

Mark Selby is over-priced at 11/1. He complained of fatigue last year when Barry Hawkins dumped him out, but he has no such qualms this year. The bottom half looks stronger overall with Trump, Robertson, Bingham, Higgins etc down there. But Selby can beat all of them on his day and I’ll be having a nice punt on him.

Ding and O’Sullivan dominate the top half. I’m looking at Ricky Walden at 80/1 in that half for a bit of an outsider. He’s got good form at the Crucible and is capable of having a deep run.

Draw at 12.00.

I’m on the road for next couple of hours so if someone could post it up in the meantime, I’d be delighted.

O’Sullivan 7-2 Hull
Bingham 5-4 Doherty

Doherty is playing good

Ronnie through to the 2nd round with a 10-4 win over Robin Hull. Two seeds in a bit of early bother, Stephen Maguire trailing Ryan Day 6-3 and Shaun Murphy trailing Jamie Cop 5-4.

Ali Carter 5-4 up on Xiao . Should be a good finish tomorrow at 2:30

Doherty levels it up at 5-5 in what was the worst standard of professional snooker I have ever seen

6-5 Ken

Doherty leads for the first time, 6-5

that was a bad miss on the blue when about to go 7-5

7-5 Ken now:clap:

Bingham imploding here

8-5 to Ken at the mid session interval
