Maflin in trouble 1-4. Joe O’Connor just beat Ben Woolaston 6-1. Looks good. Ding 3-2 up

Martin Gould beaten. That’s a surprise.

Yeah. Was doing reasonable this year. Vafei is 5-0 this morning and Gary Wilson is 4-0 down. The last qualifying round is on Tuesday & Wednesday, two session matches.

Didn’t Wilson have a tough time with depression back around the initial lockdown?

Snooker has had a few cases of that - Selby at the moment and Dott around 10 years ago.

He did. It’s very tough sport. The tour is so competitive. Pressure on every tournament to make ends meet. One poor season and you can quickly find yourself struggling to stay on tour.

And from my very limited knowledge of playing it, it is very draining mentally.

Be lonely too with the amount of practice hours spent at the table by yourself.

It’s a tough game to make a living in. There are probably too many pros. Some poor enough quality matches last week.

Who is your favourite for the Worlds?

Probably Robertson. Fancied Trump a few weeks back but he was cat the other week.

Ryan Day 1-4 down to Yuan Sijhun who has just scored three consecutive centuries including two total clearances.
