Dott and Hamilton struggling - thankfully.

Hamilton is some dose

He’ll be on Eurosport for the main tournament no doubt.

He qualified last year then never turned up because he wasn’t happy with the Covid precautions. Think Kyren Wilson got a first round bye thanks to him. He is ok on the commentary.

Delighted for Matthew Stevens. Always comes across as an alright sort. Off table issues stopped him fulfilling his huge potential.

Vafesi and Peifan was a great match. Dott got mugged off at the end with a cross pocket off two cushions. Page played well. Great comeback for Stevens from 0-4 down. Thai lad beating Milkens looks good.

Him and Paul Hunter RIP were the next bunch of players coming after Higgins Williams O’Sullivan.

Seriously talented lad. Will be disappointed not to have won the Worlds in 2000 against Williams after having a big lead overnight.

He was great pals with Hunter. He lost his Dad/manager pretty soon after Hunter’s death.

Peifan’s miss to the middle will haunt him

The pressure is massive. These lads make a very difficult game seem so easy at times. The standard of snooker is the best its ever been imho.

Disappointing that Graeme Dott hasn’t made it. Would have been a treat to see him and Mark Selby battle it out in a tense first round tie.
